Chimpanzees don't clip their nails. But it seems horribly long nails never spell a problem for them. Why?

I guess primates' nails can grow inconveniently long if not clipped regularly. I believe it's true at least with human. How about chimps ?Chimpanzees don't clip their nails. But it seems horribly long nails never spell a problem for them. Why?
For the same reason mustangs and zebras don't require the use of a farrier as do domesticated horses. Their nature as wild animals usually exposes them to conditions that wears their hooves down naturally (migration, etc.)

If you worked with your hands constantly, you probably wouldn't have long fingernails.

From personal experience, a week of hard barn labor usually reduced my nails to manly like stubs - and since most great apes and primates use their fingers for a lot of things (climbing, picking bugs off each other, digging for insects, opening fruit rinds, etc.), they naturally wear down their nails and don't require clipping :)Chimpanzees don't clip their nails. they bite them
they bite them and they wear down more than ours because they use their hands more.
When youre asleep, they sneek into your house and use your clippers! OH NO!
