The figure shows a claw hammer as it pulls a

1)If a force of magnitude 108 N is exerted

horizontally as shown, Find the force exerted

by the hammer claws on the nail. (Assume

that the force the hammer exerts on the nail

is parallel to the nail). In kN.

2)Find the force exerted by the surface on the

point of contact with the hammer head. Assume

that the force the hammer exerts on the

nail is parallel to the nail. in units of NHelp, I keep getting this problem wrong hammer and nail?
(28.7/5.82)*F = 532.6 N = Fv

1) Fn = Fv/cos29.2掳 = 610.1 N = .61 kN

2) Fs = Fn = 610.1 N
