Is there any real medical problems with bitiing your finger nails??

bitibg finger nails is more a mental problem, and this can lead to many physical problems, so better change this habit. start wearing gloves all the time, or wear loose pants, u will forget biting nailsIs there any real medical problems with bitiing your finger nails??
Yes. Nail biting can cause the fingertips to be sore and cause the cuticles to bleed. Torn cuticles raise your risk of infections at the mouth and nail bed.

Dental problems and infection of your gums can be caused by nail biting.

Long term nail biting can interfere with normal nail growth and cause deformed nails.

Rarely nail biting is diagnosed as an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and can be

treated with medication. Is there any real medical problems with bitiing your finger nails??
Yes, it looks disgusting for a start off and makes me feel sick to look to at someone biting their nails...yeh yeh I know I should'nt look then.
You could give yourself a whitloe (or whitlow, dont know how it's spelt), which is an infection of the nail bed and skin area surrounding the nail. It's painful and very difficult to get rid of without medication. Other than that don't know of anything else other than cosmetic.
You could choke on one. That would be a medical problem.
i wouldn't think so,it just makes your nails more brittle and not very nice looking.
I bit my nails from been a little kid and just stopped doing it 2 years ago, no its not a medical problem, just a plain habit that looks awful and makes your fingers sore, get some Sally Hansen clear nail growing varnish it helped me and now 2 years on I have fab nails and glad I lost the habit of biting them.
you can get worms and tummy upsets with all the rubbish whats under them
i dont think so , i always get asked if im nervous when i not. but a habit is a habit
