i dont know why she does it i think its a nervous tick or something should i worry? My cat bites her nails is that common or is a problem?
well if u think theres a tick there. check her paws. but my cat does it to. i think its naturalMy cat bites her nails is that common or is a problem?
There's no problem and nothing to worry about.
Cats either use a scratching post, scratch your furniture or bite their nails to remove the outer sheath of their nails. Perfectly normal. They usually do this to the nails on the back feet because these are the ones that they can't scratch so easily on the scratching post or elsewhere.
yes cats do that, mine does it all the time.
No need to worry. Perfectly normal.
Ours do it too, it's part of their grooming ritual. What they're doing is loosening up the sheaths on both side of the nail, which come off. You've probably seen these at the base of your scratching post. They seem to itch on a cat and the cat will bite at the things to get them looser. Most of the time just scratching on the post will get these to peel off.
Both my cats do that- it's a grooming thing. Take your cat to the vet if she is doing it obsessively, or causing wounds on her paws.
All fastidious cats groom themselves and also give themselves manicures and pedicures! I know - I have two and they both bite their nails off when they become too long.
My cat does that too. It's a grooming thing.
most cat's don't do that, you should go to the vet
