I live in California, don't drive through construction sites, rarely drive past a construction site ,but I have had to get a nail out of various tires at least 10 times in the last 5 years. I just wondered if this is common for other people especially ones that live in metropolitan areas?Does anyone have a problem with getting nails in car tires (often)?
Yeah,it seems to come in streaks.I can go a year without any punctures then get several within a couple months.Last week I pulled a nail from a tire and plugged it only to find a screw with the head worn off about a half inch from the nail. Then I got another gash in the outer edge and had to get a new tire. Geez, you're not the Lone Ranger with this...Does anyone have a problem with getting nails in car tires (often)?
I've only personally repaired nail damage about 4 or 5 times in my lifetime so far. And I'm 39. You might have a hater targeting you or maybe you should pay better attention to the road in front of you.
Try visiting an auto repair shop in California. http://www.autorepairshopreview.com/Cali鈥?/a> They can help you get on the right track. Try vistiting a few places and compare what they say.
are you going by landfills or incinerators where you could get trash spilled on the roads with sharp objects. also if you get any cut in the sidewall or damage in the sidewall it is best to buy a whole new tire
I wonder if the roads you are traveling are also traveled by trucks with cargo that contains nails. I may get one nail every five years.
