If the only tool you have is a hammer, will you treat every problem like a nail?

Sometimes you're the hammer; sometimes you're the nail. Usually you're the thumb. If the only tool you have is a hammer, will you treat every problem like a nail?
No. I can always put the hammer down.If the only tool you have is a hammer, will you treat every problem like a nail?
I think I'd look into creating other tools - sometimes you can use the problem to create the solution!
With my personality ?

Yes. ( sigh )

OM
Do you mean physically? Or do you mean mentally as well? I mean, if your ';only tool'; includes you don't have a mind, meaning essentially you are a hammer...Then yes. But if you mean physical tool, then know, because our mind is also a tool and there are some problems you can just not treat.

You can use hammers for things other than nails.
That's why I take Viagra.
of course....
Ah, but there's a lot you can do with a good hammer, especially a good claw hammer. I've used a claw to tighten up screws, held something in place, straighten something up, and in a pinch ratchet something tighter or looser. Not to mention you can use the claws in a claw hammer to inflict some serious damage. I've seen people use a hammer and a straight edge as a make shift pair of scissors.

oh... wait... you weren't really talking about a hammer as a hammer were you?

Oh, well, then yes.
With a hammer I can make a sword, a plow, a cross or a gun. I can make a screwdriver, a scalpel, a war shield. I can make pots and pans to cook with. I can make other tools with which to make yet other tools with which to make all the implements needed for a comfortable life. Nails are but one item a hammer is good for. Have you never seen a blacksmith at work??? His primary tools are a hammer, anvil and forge...
that is a very interesting question - please elaborate with an example. i am intrigued! ;-)
hammers are properly used on many things besides nails. Pianos won't work without them, for instance.
No, I will worship the hammer as my god instead, and pray to it to help me on my tests.
That's been my observation.
this is a good question that clearly reflects life itself. I'm really impressed and will steal your question for future use...lol
my Archie liked to hammer me like a nail.
Not necessarily like a nail, but something that needs to be smashed, and hard.
If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning, I'd hammer in the evening, all over this land. I'd hammer at daybreak, I'd hammer out a warning. I'd hammer a song a Love for my brothers and my sisters, all over this land.
